Organized by Y·PARK; co-presented by School of Creative Media of the City University of Hong Kong and Alvdalen, the exhibition "Wood and Us" features the wooden art works, which are made by 12 CityUHK students who participated in the previous Upcycling Wooden Benches Workshop.
Wood and Us: Wood connects us, brings us together. The project started with a two-day Upcycling Woodworking Workshop using recycled wood provided by Y·PARK. Twelve Workshop participants applied traditional woodworking techniques to build a total of three wooden benches with their hands and hand tools. Recycled wood brings people together to experience the art of woodworking with their own hands. The exhibition Wood and Us constructs these three wooden benches into a circular resting space, as if a small island in this venue. It is hoped that different people can gather on this “island”, sit on the wooden benches, and talk face to face about daily life.
